You may have missed me in your inbox last week… that’s because I wasn’t there… this was the first week I’ve skipped writing a blog all year… so now I’m sharing with you what I know about how to get back on track…
Has your teen gone off the rails with their schooling... have their marks dropped… are they not living up to their potential… or what you know they are capable of achieving… ??
Are you in conflict with your teen over their inability to get back on track… their stubborn refusal to do what you know needs to be done… ??
Do you worry that this conflict will permanently damage your relationship with them… ??
Are they stressed about school… assessments and exams… are they frozen in fear… ??
Are your words falling on deaf ears… ??
Is your son or daughter an introvert?
Do they spend a lot of time alone?
Are they uninterested in socialising, sports, or other activities?
They must be missing out on life, right?
Maybe they complain about being bored… yet aren’t willing to engage in any activities you suggest…
Then yes… help them find something they want to do… teach them strategies to overcome fears that hold them back… this will definitely help them embrace life…
When I was a child my parents thought something was “wrong” with me… I spent time by myself… I talked to my toys like they were real… and I talked to myself – lots!!
Do you have a mentor?
Someone you can talk to about issues you are facing… who challenges you to become more than you initially believed possible…
Last weekend I attended a business retreat with my inspiring business mentor and fellow entrepreneurs…. there’s no way I would have created my youth mentoring business without their support…
I may have been able to search the internet, read free blogs and tutorials… about how to set up a website, blog, and attract people onto my mailing list…. I could have looked at what other people were doing and worked on creating my Anxious to Awesome program alone….
But it would have taken years instead of months… and I perhaps would have given up without someone there constantly believing in me…
